Countywide Collective Impact Efforts

 

The Alliance for Education is a countywide network committed to working towards the common goal of producing an educated and skilled workforce.  With the vision of preparing all SBC students from cradle to career, the Alliance for Education coordinates a county-wide effort to develop a work-based learning system in partnership with business, labor, industry, community and faith-based organizations, education and government.  The Alliance network of SBC partnerships is working towards increasing the rate of successful entry into local careers that provide family-supporting wages for all SBC students.  Its strategy is to integrate the world of work and the learning process by utilizing WBL systems that sufficiently serve every SBC student.

 

The Mountain Desert Economic Partnership is a collaborative, collective impact approach aiming to transform the economic landscape of the High Desert over the next 15 years.  Consisting of industry, government, education, and community representatives, MDEP focuses on building a sustainable culture of high-quality, local employees surrounded by an engaging and attractive community.  

 

GIA is a regional intermediary organization aimed at increasing postsecondary credential attainment, adding more qualified people to the workforce, and contributing to a thriving economy across the Inland Empire. GIA brings together leaders across K-20 education, civic, and business sectors to achieve educational and economic success. GIA's vision is that by 2035, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will be widely recognized for their educated workforce, thriving communities, and vibrant economy that creates prosperity for all.

The Leonard Transportation Center provides leadership and assistance that will enhance activities related to transportation and logistics in the Inland Empire. The goals are to grow the number of local students seeking a post-secondary education in logistics and transportation, and to place CSUSB in a greater support role of the logistics and transportation sector. We believe that with a collaborative effort we can increase the number of local residents obtaining higher paid positions in the transportation/logistics industry and ultimately enhance the overall economic community development of the region.

 

Uplift San Bernardino’s goal is to build a generation of successful adults who are committed to growing roots in San Bernardino. The work of Uplift SB will improve access to local opportunities for our youth by aligning K16 pathways with local business & industry, incentivizing youth to pursue their future San Bernardino City, and helping them gain valuable experience through internships.  In addition, our work strengthens our community by inspiring investments in developing our neighborhoods, improving safety, enhancing community pride, and creating opportunities for small businesses to thrive.  

 

San Bernardino County Gangs & Drugs Task Force provides a strong leadership role in coordination, collaboration and communication between law enforcement, the criminal justice system, Social Services, education, probation, mental health, children and family services, elected officials, the community at large and private enterprise. The Gangs and Drugs Taskforce provides information and resources in an effort to prevent and stop the alarming trends that poison our SBC neighborhoods and cripple our communities. 

 

The Cal-SOAP program is administered by the California Student Aid Commission to improve the flow of information about postsecondary education and financial aid while raising achievement levels of targeted students. Some common services provided by the consortia include college and financial aid application assistance, advising, academic progress monitoring, parent outreach, and college awareness workshops and activities.
